Just as the season of spring is the time for growth and renewal, so should you consider doing a “Spring Cleaning” for your health. Through the long winter months people tend to hunker down, become more lethargic and turn to heavier, fat filled comfort foods. In turn your internal house (Body Systems) can become sluggish and backed up due to a heavier diet and lack of exercise. Some of the symptom you may be experiencing are:

- Digestive Problems
- Problems with healthy bowl movements (Constipation)
- Problem Skin and poor complexion
- Unusual aches & Pains
- Poor sleeping patterns
- Sluggish Heavy Feeling & Lack of Energy
The good news is that just as spring is a time for a fresh start, so can you decide to get a jump start on the summer months by choosing to Detox Your Body Naturally. A few months back, I wrote an article on TopHealthSpot’s Blog - Colon Cleansing, Cleansing Your Internal House. Until today, this is by far one of my most popular articles and I continue to get great comments from everyone wanting more information on the important subject of Natural Cleansing, what colon cleansing foods to eat and what Natural Cleansing Products are most recommended. Our bodies come with it’s own built in healing system. A proper detox and cleansing protocol that is done a few times per year just helps to enhance our immune systems and gets you right back in sync again.
The art of Internal Cleansing is centuries old and is practiced around the world. It is extremely popular in Asian Medicine. You also may have heard the term “Ayurvedic” which is a way of body cleansing using certain practices in harmony with nature and healing herbal products and detoxifying teas. You may be wondering if this is hard to follow? Actually, you begin the process of detoxifying the body by resting, cleansing and nourishing the body from from the inside out. By eating certain foods, drinking natural tea’s and juices and taking herbal supplements that are especially blended for naturally cleansing the body and colon, you will begin removing and eliminating toxins. There are different levels of natural cleansing. Some people start a cleanse just for their health, while others do a Colon Cleanse for Weight Loss or to flush deadly toxins such as nicotine and alcohol from their lungs, pancreas and kidneys.
There are special herbal cleanses such as Cleanse Smart that offer beginning cleanses like First Cleanse by Renew Life, to more advanced month long protocols. I have often used this particular cleanse along with a healthy lighter diet that consists mainly of fruits, vegetables and natural herbal teas. I restrict my intake of meat, dairy and alcohol during my cleansing period. It is also important to flush your body with as much water as possible. Detoxifying your system can protect you from disease and keep you in the best of health.
How does Cleansing Work?
In short, detoxifying means cleansing the impurities found in the blood. These toxins are found in the Liver which works as a clearing drain where all impurities and bad toxins are then processed for elimination. Different ways we expel toxins are through our kidneys in the form of urine. We pass other toxins from our intestines in the form of Bowl movements and we also eliminate toxins through our lungs when we breathe. Toxins also leave the body through our skin every time we perspire. However, when our healing system is clogged up, toxins fail to be properly filtered and expelled from the body that is when we become adversely affected and our health is compromised.
Do You Need To Cleanse?
It is highly suggested that everyone detox at least once a year. A short Colon Cleansing program is very safe for your health and is very beneficial. With today’s toxic environment and personal stress levels, it is more important than ever to detox your body. If you have been experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned in this article, such as extreme fatigue, poor circulation and infrequent natural bowl movements, then you would probably benefit from a good detoxifying program and healthy change of diet and exercise.
Before You Start Your Cleanse
Try to eliminate toxic foods from your diet. Begin to eat a lighter diet. Try to eliminate if not limit your intake of caffeine, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, dairy products, white sugar and processed, fat laden foods and red meats. Substitute natural alternatives for your personal grooming products and any household cleaners that contain caustic chemicals. Use only Organic Products!
Avoid stressful situations if at all possible. Begin a light exercise routine such as walking, practice Yoga and meditation methods as well as deep breathing exercises. Keep well hydrated at all times. All of these suggestions will help prepare for your deep Body Cleanse.

I’ve tried a number of colon cleansers and some work better than others. My only problem being cramps. I guess my digestive system is a bit sensative so i’ve had to cut back on the recommended dosages. Before using any cleanser be sure to start slow.
